About DICE

The DICE Cafe was set up in September 2023 by David Anderson to improve the use and knowledge of Digital and Interactive Classroom Experiences.

The aim is to work with academics to identify, create and trial innovations in teaching and learning which will ultimately improve student experiences. We promote a collaborative approach sharing our practices and experiences with others across the institution.

The DICE Cafe has it’s roots in a teaching and learning innovation bid submitted in 2021 titled ‘Let’s Play Games!’, I set up a games club for students leading to a pilot of board games in the classroom in 2022. Following a successful pilot the business school invested in a wider range of games. In 2023 the business school invested in virtual reality and business simulations and I established the DICE Cafe to support the use of these growing resources.

Through the DICE Cafe I’m looking to work with colleagues within the University of Lincoln, and across other educational establishments, to learn about different approaches being used across the sector and share practices.
